After one-on-one meetings with all the member of the Plantation City, we met with City staff to discuss a number of problems and inconsistencies with the existing Traffic Calming Program on June 25, 2025. We also discussed the Dump the Bumps campaign vote to remove the speed bumps. A formal application was submitted on June 26, 2025 and is pending.
During the meeting, city staff shared their plans to replace the distructive plastic speed bumps with asphalt speed humps (AKA speed tables). There is also a plan to install a "round-about" traffic circle at NW 74th Avenue. City staff has not yet provided a schedule for either of these projects.
On August 7, 2024, we presented the Plantation City Council with a stack of 152 response cards from residents of the neighborhood surrounding NW 11th Place. and 72% were AGAINST the speed bumps.
The next step will be for city staff to go through the response cards and verify the results.
After the count has been confirmed, city staff should issue a work order for removal of the speed bumps. Stay tuned...
We want to say THANK YOU to everyone who mailed back a response postcard (or voted by internet). By responding to this campaign, you participated in the democratic process provided by the Constitution of the United States and the State of Florida.

It cost more than $1,000 to print and mail 500 flyers to the neighborhood surrounding NW 11 Place. Registering our not-for-profit corporation with the State of Florida, setting up this website, bank account, mailbox, etc. have also contributed to the cost of this effort. We would appreciate any funds you can donate.
